Jewelry Care

Semi-Precious Gemstones

Semi-precious gemstones can be very delicate and should not be exposed to harsh chemicals and oils or submerged in water for long periods of time. Pieces with semi-precious gemstone should be removed before showering or participating in any active hobbies.

Gold Filled

Gold filled jewelry is a higher quality and budget friendly alternative to gold plated jewelry. Unlike gold plated jewelry, gold filled pieces consist of a thick layer of solid gold which is pressure bonded to a metal base. Gold filled jewelry is durable and tarnish resistant, though it does require the proper care to maintain its luster. To keep your gold filled pieces in good condition you should not expose them to harsh chemicals and oils.

Care & Storage

Proper cleaning and storage is key when it comes to the longevity of all your jewelry. When cleaning your gold filled pieces use a gentle soap and warm water, then carefully pat dry. (Rubbing can scratch the metal)

Try your best to limit your jewelry to exposure to harsh chemicals (fragrance, lotions/creams, skincare products, cleaning products, chlorine). Over expose to these chemicals can react with the metal and cause your jewelry to become dull and tarnish. If you believe your jewelry has been exposed to any products with harsh chemicals it is best to remove the piece or pieces and clean, following the instructions mentioned above.

Avoid wearing your jewelry when cleaning with harsh chemicals. Exposure to detergents and cleaning agents can be detrimental to all metals.
Gently clean your gold filled piece with a jewelry polishing cloth once a month to help keep its shine.

While it's appealing to display all of your beautiful gold pieces on a jewelry stand, it is best to store them in a jewelry box. Oxygen can cause oxidation and cause pieces to tarnish quickly. So keep them safe for the next time you go to use them.
